Disclosure
At FlouraFi, we are committed to providing you with accurate and ethical financial consulting services. Below are your rights regarding your credit file, as mandated under state and federal law:
You have the right to dispute inaccurate information on your credit report by contacting the credit bureau directly. However, neither you nor FlouraFi, or any other organization, can request the removal of accurate, current, and verifiable information from your credit report. Credit bureaus are required to remove accurate but negative information only when it has exceeded the statutory reporting period—7 years for most items and 10 years for bankruptcy-related information.
As part of your rights, you are entitled to obtain your credit report from a credit bureau. There may be a reasonable fee associated with this unless you meet specific criteria, such as having an adverse action (e.g., being denied credit, insurance, employment, or housing) due to information in your report within the previous 60 days. Additionally, you are entitled to a free report under certain conditions, including unemployment with an intent to seek employment within 60 days, public welfare assistance, or suspicion of fraud causing inaccuracies in your credit report.
You have the right to take legal action against any organization, including credit repair companies, that violates the Credit Repair Organization Act (CROA). This law strictly prohibits deceptive and unfair practices.
Under federal law, you have the right to cancel your contract with FlouraFi at no cost or penalty before midnight of the 3rd business day after the agreement was signed. Please refer to the accompanying notice of cancellation form for additional details on this right.
Credit bureaus are legally required to follow reasonable measures to ensure the accuracy of the information they report. Errors may occasionally occur, and you are encouraged to dispute these inaccuracies on your own by submitting written notification to the relevant credit bureau. Upon receiving your dispute, the credit bureau must reinvestigate and revise or remove any inaccurate or incomplete information at no charge to you. Be sure to provide appropriate documentation supporting your dispute when filing.
If you feel that a reinvestigation hasn't adequately resolved the issue, you may submit a written statement explaining your concerns, which will be included in your credit file and shared with any party requesting your report.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) oversees credit bureaus and credit repair organizations. For further information, you may contact:
